Is a Press book useful for small companies or freelancers?

Yes, the press book is needed nowadays as this will be helpful for your own marketing and your internal analysis.

You have to invest about 3 to 5 hours of your precious time to design a Press Book.

The best way is to :- make a brief video and link it from youtube on your website.

If you're going to an exhibition, you will certainly receive many visits of journalists searching your new products or a good title and content for their next publication. So, be ready.

Choose a Power Point templates (free downloads on http://www.free-power-point-templates.com/ or in Spanish, http://www.plantillapowerpoint.com/, etc)

Choose a good design.

Slide 1-Brief presenation of the company + picture of your core business
Slide 2-Main goals of your company
Slide 3-News about products, production process, etc- here, be very direct and clear as you have to attract the attention just on the major differences of your products or services
Slide 4- Communication events and strategy: describe your press communication strategy and give real examples of your trade shows calendar, special events calendar, plant visits, etc
Slide 5- Give pictures of what you want to be published

Prepare some pendrives to go to your international event, show or prospection mission. Be ready to give the right message to press.

Always have your Press Book on your mobile smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Enjoy doing it, it's a real nice job to analyse your strengthens, write these down (but not all of these,-)), and be different using a special tool, picture, message, animaton or video!
